ok well i am buying a 300ex from my friend for 900 dollars it has a durable axle, razors, cobra pipe. well i want to keep it but only if i can make it be able to keep up with a stock 400ex. I know it is possible, but how much money and what will i need exactly? Also i want to get rid of the cobra exhaust because it is real loud. is there any other pipe that gives good gains that isnt over like 100db's?? and one last thing if anyone has a 300ex rear caliper for sale PM me cuz i am looking for one, will a 400ex rear caliper fit or 250ex? thanks for all the help.

A descent 330 or bigger bore kit will do the jb and an experianced rider. an hmf is nice theres alot of white brothers suck in the long run and so dont fmf so stay away from them

i can out accelerate my buddies 400 ex with my stock 300ex, but once its WO he goes by me. i bet if you geta nice exhaust, a nice jet kit, and maybe a + 1 or 2 tooth sprock you could beat him.

get a 4 stroke tech 330 kit and dont worry about that pipe bcuz if you get a 330 kit your gonna want and need a bigger pipe so its gonna be loud eitherway unless you want it stock,,, but it will sure as hell smoke a 400

a 330 done RIGHT will beat a z400, but a 330 done poorly wont beat a .020 300ex with everything.. keep that in mind when doing it

I have been running a 11:1wiseco .020 over and i could beat a stock 400. But i locked it up so im going to the 313 powroll kit $300.If you go 330 then you have to machine the casses because the sleeve is to big.

I didn't machine my cases.:o Check your info before you spout off the wrong information. If you know something for a fact tell us, but if you don't then don't say so.

When I had my 300 I was looking at the row roll kits. They are some good kits at a decent price. HOwever I had a 12:1 stock bore piston, web 254 cam, harden rockers, heavy duty springs, stainless valves, full FMF and could run with a bone stock 400. Up top the 400 was faster but down low it was competitive. A good 330 kit will get you ahead of a 400.

Supertrapp make a reall nice exhaust that comes with a head pipe and silencer. You can get the quiet core or the race core for the silencer, both will give you noticable gains with a stock bore motor.
