My 450r
In the picture you can see the front elka shock rezzy. I just got an axis to match my fronts. I also took off the 450r decals on the side and the stickers on the hood which were half riped off. Here are the new things that I just recently got which aren't show in the picture. New front and rear sprockets, d.i.d x ring chain, gripper seat so I don't fly off when I'm smoking the yfz's, for the motor I got a 13.1 piston thermal coated, ported head with kibble white valves, valve springs, guides, and seals, and a trenga racing hotwire coil kit. I'm sure there is more I'm forgetting but I listed what I could remember

They only come in a full system and they are going for around $575 depending on who you buy it from. They make a better power curve than any exhaust out when dialed in properly and a "Stealth Core" will be available very soon for the areas that need to be at 96db or less.

Re-read the part where I said "when dialed in properly".

You might have forgotten or maybe weren't aware, but there have been more than the two independent pipe shootouts you are referring to. I'll trust the findings of a national SuperMotard builder, one of the best Dune machine builders, and the K&N dyno testing facility that all showed it to have the more desirable curve than what it was tested against.

I'm not sure that they were dialed in correctly. Here's the rundown on the PC runs.............
1) Baseline jetting and run
2) Increase jetting from 1 and peak hp increases
3) Increase jetting from 2 and peak hp drops
4) Increase jetting from 3 and peak hp increases
5) Increase jetting from 4 and peak hp drops

You've spent some time around dynos, how many times have you seen an engine react to jetting changes that way? Everything else being equal, they shouldn't. The peak hp number will have a consistent change with a increasingly rich jetting change. If anything, the power should increase and then fall off once the mixture is too rich, not go up and down while richening the jetting. Now if the pipe is not sealed fully at the head or the silencer junction, or if there is a bad seal anywhere along the intake tract, or if the intake supply is not consistent, this will throw off the mixture and/or the A/Fr reading. Those results are an aberration.

K&N dyno testing facility up against a Dr.D slip on. ok-maybe better than slip on, but barely. I was not referring to the test on the YFZ between the PC and the DrD. I am referring to the impressions that the dyno operator at K&N expressed about the PC.

and the other finding compared the PC results to what pipe exactly? There have been many, on both the TRX and the YFZ.

pipe shootout #1- comparision to 8 other systems That test was not accurate for ANY of the pipes that were tested, no one can argue that. Even HMF themselves said that the numbers didn't look right.

hmm. initiated by me yes but not to be confrontational only informative. when someone claims that the PC performed above when it hasn't then i feel compelled to comment that i don't agree. I am not attacking you. I would comment if it were anyone. it's just that you and few others are really the only one claiming better so it appears that i drum into conversations of yours to make an attack- when it's actually only an opinion or point. Isn't that what you said in last PM to me that you had a problem with me that I make hidden stabs and don't really say how i really feel? now i am saying. But that's ok, it's on your quad not mine, and if you think it's the best cause you have one installed, then your entitled to your opinion as I am. right?

We will all choose to believe the info that we want to, that's cool. Myself, I choose to believe the findings of several people, with several dynos, on several different days, and numerous ride reports. If you choose to believe the findings of two "shootouts" (the first of which was horribly flawed) that were performed on the same dyno, that's totally your prerogative.

BTW, this isn't meant as an aimed assault towards you, I feel that things are cool between us. I'm just trying to make sure that ALL of the info is presented, not just a small sampling.

The first test each pipe wasnt jetted to its fullest output, even if they were it still wouldnt have been the top dog.

Then it was a jetting issue, that was solved , then the a/f tube has to be installed a certain way blah blah blah.

During the second test, BOTH pipes were seated correctly with no leaks at the cylinder , a new crush gasket was used AND JETTED CORRECTLY with the a/f meter for max output. There were no leaks at the connections either. Each pipe was secured to the mounting areas. It interesting to see how many PC user will try to find any resaon why the PC didnt perform as the best. This discussion will never end. Look at some other graphs and you will see that the results posted are from different dates and conditions then overlayed onto one chart. The tests speak for themselves. You are either a PC user or not.

ok well,... my "perogative" is also supported by the fact that the results that I obtained on the dyno while the PC was installed on my 530 were sub-par to the other systems tested. The finding of shootout#1 and shootout #2 only support my 530r findings that was measured on the dyno. And yes, all my runs were A/F sampled so the A/F would be no excuse.

However,..... i realize that the first time i examined the PC on the 530r, my valve train was hav'n noise issues. The noise issues were due to the cam timing being degree'd in on crf specs that was too advanced for stroker, but all three pipes were measured with the same advanced timing and the PC performed last. Like you said, i'm also provided more details here. :) One thing in the last PM to you Dan, i mentioned that i would be seriously willing to test the PC again fairly with the 59hp setup I have now if I could get a sample. If you are so convinced that the PC performs, why not trust me to test your PC on the 530R? I'll even pay for shipping and take care of her like my own? any takers to this offer to retest?

It's not necessary for ME to have anything proven to you, I have nothing to gain or loose from the success or failure of this pipe. Like I have always stated, I just want the correct info presented.

It's polished, then powdercoated with a translucent red. Gives it that anodized look- Spindles are done the same way, as are some other parts

i didn't think you would trust me, it was worth a try. how is one pipe shootouts with nine pipes, another more accurate pipe shootout with two, a 520R shootout with three pipes, and 530R with three different pipes all performed on a dyno called speculation? face the facts, the pipe you have gotten for free is just average.

Ride a quad equipped with a stock carb, then ride one with an FCR and I'd like to see you make that comment with a straight face...

If you ride the two carbs, then see the dyno numbers you'd be even more surprised.

Anyone of you had the chance to redeem yourselves on your points on the performance of it and you wouldn't cause you know that it isn't anything over the top as hyped to be and all these test results prove it. If any of you were so confident of its performance that it would succeed then anyone of you would have volunteered to send a sample knowing that it would win. but you wouldn't cause you think someone might want it to keep it- No worries about keeping it cause i don't ever want it!

yea, that was the best thing that happened to me not getting that pipe cause now i'm not the one mezmorized to believe its better than what it really is.. i see you and a few others everyday trying to convince ppl that your pipe (except Boone) is awesome with no proof other than the seat-of-the-pants feel and a few ride reports. Definitly going with 18's on beadlocks. for the front, i'm thinking about omf's but i may mount them on the stock ones for now. Depends on what beadlocks i get...Burgard or Douglas champions. I just got the Houser dealership and yes in the next few weeks this 450r will be all Houser. Houser stuff is top notch. I am sure I will sell alot of his stuff. The Roll a-arms were bought several weeks ago.

We'll see. nice that will look awsome, i run klaw fronts and really like them other than they leak air around the bead(could be both tires and rims fault). i had shredders on my oldd quad and i have to say they were pretty good too so its a hard choice. id say the klaws would be a better choice though. i run burgard rear beads and havnt had any problems either

86 Where did he get that seat and those collant hoses. That is by far the BEST 450r I have EVER seen! That is a prime example of when you dump so much money into a quad that it actually ends up like a piece of furniture in you house, you just sit on it...thats it!

Those coolant lines are made from some company, starts with a w, can't remember the name and they sell for about $70. Really not worth it when you can go to Home Depot and get the same tubing for about $.50 a foot :D I admit it looks cool, but I'd rather pay for something that'll help than something that looks good.

You can request them in any color combination for the top or bottom sections, including a chrome. You can also get a checkered graphics or flames or flames w/skulls.

I'm having a problem with the tank graphics bubbling. They're vented, but the slits seem to be too tight to let the venting out. I'm sure we'll get it straightened out tho. Only place I could find blue for a Honda, go figure....:huh
