Hi All

First, I would like to give a big thank you to all (about 220 of you)
who
attended the Parks and Recreation Commission meeting on February 02
2005.
All the commissioners and our Park Directors were very impressed with
the
public participation at the meeting.
The strong support you have shown, has made the Parks and Recreation
Dep.
recommitted to MCP.
The Parks Recreation Dep. is committed more than ever to improve MCP.

MCP has designated the Main MX track, Mini MX track and Novice Oval as
a
closed course. This means red sticker vehicles will be allowed to ride
throughout the entire year on those specified areas.

Some of the short term goals for MCP are:

1) Purchase a water truck.
2) Hire an operator to work on the tracks and trails on a consistent
basis.
3) Expand and resurface the Quarter Midget parking lot.

To meet these goals MCP will need the help from the State OHV funds
(your
green sticker money).
MCP will need your support by sending e-mails and letters, and to
attend the
State OHV meeting (times and locations to be announced) in order to
ensure
that your funds are to be used at the park that you attend. (Not other
parks
within California).
You can to e-mail Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, at

If you are not sure what to write here is afrom one of our riders that
you can
copy and fill in the blanks
4) Look into having a promoter install lights on the MX track and run
practice in the evening.

Some of the long term goals for MCP are:

1) Expand MCP within 5 to 10 years.

I would like to give a big thank you to Joe Racer and Fly Racing for
their
generous donation on riding gear to MCP staff in the amount of
$2,690.02.
Look for the entire staff to be riding with all new FLY gear.

Joe Racer can be contacted at www.JoeRacerProducts.com .

There are still some openings in the Spring of 2005 Jr.OHV Ranger
program.
What is a Jr. OHV Ranger program?
I am glad you asked.
The Jr. Ranger OHV program is for 9-12 year old kids.
It is a 6 week program on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and starts
on
April 2 and runs thought May 7 of 2005.
Jr, OHV Rangers will learn safe riding habits and learn about the
importance
of natural resources through activity's and exploration with Park
Rangers.
There is no fee, only a commitment to attend and to be respectful of
other
participants, staff, and park resources.
Application are at MCP office 300 Metcalf Road San Jose CA phone
408-226-5223.
