The city of Adelanto is about 90 miles outside of Los Angeles. It has been hosting the event now for 25 years.

Over the years It's been an event that Bike riders come from all over to race, but in the past 3 or 4 years the Quads have made there presence known. Last year they had over 200 entries so this year they limited the class sizes.... This was just before the start on Sunday. They also ran the smaller Quads on Saturday with the Bike class...

The focus was on Last years winner Greg Stewart who you see here being interviewed. Actually Stewart has won here the last three years..

Where as the favorite to win may be Stewart here was my choice. Doug Eichner has tried very hard the last couple years to win here but luck just hasn't been on his side. Last year he had some problems on the start and the year before I do believe it was a tire problem.

Seen here chating before the start are Perez and my friend Darrell Patton. Last year there was a huge crash about five minutes into the race where quite a few riders went down including Patton. Nick Granlund who was seriously injured last year in that crash couldn't make it here this year.

Heres another local rider Pete Garcia(without helmet). I normaly run into to Pete at the ITP races. We both run in the Vet class. Unfortunately for Pete He crashed on the first lap and hurt his shoulder....

It's a dead engine start so they guys with the little electric button do have a little advantage, but not much. As you see in this Photo from the Pro start on the inside is a Yamaha but right next to him are 2 Hondas. Tony Bienert got the holeshot with Patton and another friend and his first year in the Pro class Larry Hayes, were all right there.

The Pro Class and the Expert classes had great starts, no problems. But the rest,,, well take a look at some of the mess.

It was a disaster...

First it was because they were braking to hard on the pavement...and loosing control.

And then the dust got so bad you could not see where the turn was and riders were hitting the hay bails at a pretty good rate sending them flying...

Luckily no one was hurt to bad..

And about 10 minutes later from out of no where... Here comes Eichner.. I have no Idea where him or Stewart were on the start but he came in about 30 second or more ahead of second place on the first lap..

Here is Stewart in the second spot also about 30 seconds ahead of the next rider..

The third place rider Josh Fredericks went by followed by Darrell Patton(35), after a pretty descent start was running fourth.

The rest of the day was pretty boring. No one moved up and no one moved down.. Doug Eichner won, Stewart second, Fredericks third, Patton fifth. Here was one of the fastest riders out there. Logan Holiday, He started in the second wave, Expert class and finished fourth overall of all the classes... Beating quite a few of the pros.. I will have more photos of the Amatuers and Mini races a little later.
Thanks
