I would lower it, install the sway bar, then see how it handles. If the front end pushes either stiffen the rear or loosen the front. If it oversteers do the opposite.I am not sure if this was what you were asking but hope it helps.

We took the 400ex spring and cut two coils/springs off mine to lower it and it works GREAT! :)

drop down a tooth in the front and start there if you need more drop down 1 or 2 teeth in the rear

gearing all pretty much depends on how big the track that your riding at is. how big are the tracks that you will be racing at?

Gearing is crucial but it really depends on what size of track you are running. As for the rear shock I would set it about in the middle. WE just ran a TT this past weekend & it was my 1st one & i had a blast!!!!!! I was on my 300ex, I ran the front lowered my shocks were adjusted about in the middle(stock) as for my rear didn't do a thing w/ it!! Shock or lowering, I ran 14/38 gearing w/ 16" rear H-trak tires & 19"radials up front. I took 2nd behind a FASSTTTTT blaster in my heat but 4th in my main :( my airboot came off the carb dang it!! But I was running in 2/3rd

you will love it!!

I race national tt and i am a champ. I raced a 400ex last season. i lowered the back and then i put the shock pretty stiff so the bike would squat and take off. but don't go to far because it just want to raise the front end up. and for the swaybar goes i would put it on then i would make sure that it is set with equal weight on both sides. then i would stiffen the front shocks a little bit so they don't colapse in the corners.
