Does anyone have any experience with a Kawasaki Brute Force? My dad got rid of the Prairie 400 and is looking into getting one. I just wondered what good and bad experiences people have had with them.

A friend of mine has one. So far just weak tie rod ends, and he runs the sh$$ out of it.

not sure how they run, but I smoked one this past weekend on my King Quad. They are supposed to be terrific, but I wasn't impressed. CHeck out the King Quad if you want to hang with the sport quads.

trust me man, it was Mike Penland on a green brute force 750. We were side by side in a nasty whooped out field and my King quad had no problem taking it too the woods first.

I don't really care how fast they are. We need something that can tow a lot and haul stuff to the fields. But thanks for the info.

My friends brother just bought one and was doing 75mph in the field across his house. It ran neck and neck with his KFX 400. Nice bike but hefty price tag.

Key word is open feild in a short run it would be a 400ex the winner but in the long run the brute force can get up to speed

JR3, have you ever rode a brute?. They live by there name, A brute will eat a 400ex in short and long runs. Would have never believed this until my friend on his v-force got smoked 3 out of 5 runs against a brute. 100 yds, 200 yds, and 300 yds.

I have a BF 750 and it is fast. I love it I can definately hang with the sport quads. She tops out at 70 mph, tested both by GPS and speedo.

Bottom line is that if a KQ defeats a BF in a race either the BF is not running right or they just aren’t trying. I have had fairly extensive experience with both as far as mud riding and just showing out. The KQ is kind of like a hopped up Rincon being that the handling is similar, serious lack of ground clearance, and it’s just not set up for mudding. The BF hands down has more power and we saw this on dyno runs. The BF was putting out more power than any other bike we slung on there. The KQ when in the pits has a very low rev limiter and bogs down quite easy when it comes to mud bogging. The KQ also has some serious issues with faulty reverse. The KQ also has a bad low spot on the low end. Some say it’s a jetting issue, but I think the bike is just geared too high. I noticed on several different ones that they don’t have as much low end grunt as even my Grizzly.

The BF also has it’s issues with overheating and weak tie rods, not to mention the worst air box design on the market. A fair bit of people that I know that have them have a lot of trouble keeping belts on the BF, but most of that is because of the bad design CVT of Kawasaki.

From my experience of mud riding the BF well equipped vs. the KQ well equipped is no match. The BF is going to win most of the time. The BF just has that much more power.

Ken,

No doubt the stock rear shocks on the KQ are better than those on the BF750, but powerwise there is no comparision. Riderwise, well, we will leave that debate to you and Mike, put Mike back on the Prairie and he spanks your *****. My BF750 with Elkas all around would put your KQ behind, way behind.

I still haven't made it home to see or ride Dad's Brute yet. I can see from all this talk I need to hurry up and make it home some weekend.

I know this is a few days old but what are you smoking Mike Penland does not spank Ken Robey Ken is a good a racer as Mike. I think you need to sign up yourself and a utility and go race these guys that flat out haul my brother is a ute racer also. Not quite as fast but not to far behind.

Finally rode the Brute this afternoon. Didn't get much seat time as I was riding home with a buddy from school. Plus it was snowing. I don't know what the deal with that was.

But HOLY CRAP, that thing was fast. I couldn't believe at how it would pull the front wheels either. I just rode it down the road and back once. I also noted that it turns just as tight as dad's old three-wheelers would. I'll have to get some more time on it to see what I think. But I know it's working great on the farm. My little brother had about 400 lbs of seed on it's racks and it didn't even hardly squat he said.

It smoked a 400ex in a short run. I highly doubt that. My brother-in-law just bought a bf750 so I will find out this weekend how fast it really is. He weighs like 130lbs so it should be funny to watch him ride that beast. I let him ride my 450r and it threw him around like a ragdoll!lol

The bf750 is like riding in a jeep. Lots of power plus lots of weight but its pretty cool for a tank!

If you want a tank get a Polaris....My grizz is what some people call "big" but it feels real light and nimble to me.

I've got to admit... they ( the Grizzly's ) do look big... but I think one took 2nd or 3rd place, beating me & several Brute forces in the obstical course race I ran last weekend... he had a lot done to it, but was running a big set of 26" 589's with reversed rims...

Yes honda is the best. They 4x4 is under powered compared to all of the other stuff out there but when it comes to the sport quad market nothing touches the 450r!

MudMonsterGrizz

It's not just that the 4x4's are underpowered, but they are underequipped as well as they have a poor engine design for deep water and mud.
