would a shock from a 250r fit a 400ex? thanks

I dont no if it will fit but my dad says it might fit but im not sure.
Most shock are the same except the travel. it Sould bolt up, but deppending on the 250r shock might be smaller or bigger.I heard if you take the shocks off the YFZ and put them on a rapor it lowers the front end.(Just a thought).
