how is this supposed to be set? are there any timing marks, etc? thanks

On whut bike?:huh I know the 400ex has marks on the crank and balance shaft.

There are a few punch marks that you line up.

theres a gear that slides on the crank...that lines up with a mark on the crank. then theres an outer mark on that near the teeth that lines up with a mark on the c-balancer gear.
