Wow lots of choices! How do you think the razor 6ply will hold up just for the rear of the bike?

the razor2's or I razors are alot better than the origional razor razors are hella heavy too but since you dont ride mx it doesnt really matter:o

I wouldnt get razer's for the rears, so far out of about 5 riders ive talked to 4 said they sucked, 3 race xc and the other 2 just ride

Just saying what I've herd, the razer fronts are suppose be nice but the backs dont hook as well as holeshots but last longer, must be rider preferance..

I like the RAZrs for everyday riding, and Klaws at the track.

My razr's in the back and front have held up very well. I've had them since last summer and they havn't worn down all that much. I've even had one day that I found a nail in the left rear tire before going riding for the day, and still went out and they held up all day long (thank god for 6-ply). Either way, if you go for the holeshots, kenda's, or razr's, you won't be upset. I would take any of the any day of the week. They are all good tires and have all been on top of the market for a reason.

the rears dont hook up at all and the fronts are awsome for trails and the worst tires for MX...i have them but o well atleast there not stock:cool:

a year or 2 ago i bet the original razrs would have been recommended 2:1 but now with the razr2s, holeshot HDs, kenda klaws, and holeshot mxr4s - they dont seem to get near the recognition they used to.

as for me, i run the original razrs and i think they are an excellent all around tire. i only run the 4-ply rears for agressive trail riding and i have no complaints. they hook up and slide much better than the stock rear tires and stack up well to all other rear tires ive seen or tried.

razr2s are a great XC/trail tire but i think they will be way too agressive and heavy for any serious track use. my friend just got a set and they seem to hook up better all around than my original razrs (his are new though too, mine are 1.5 yrs old). my only problem with these tires, they have too much sidebite for dry trails. i cant wait to see how well they do on the dry trails this summer, from our experience so far - they almost bite too much when the ground is dry and hard.

the holeshots are probably one of the best tires out there, but they are expensive and dont usually last very long. the reason they hook up so well and make a great tire is that they are very light and use a softer tread compound. unless you need a lot of performance, i wouldnt get holeshots.

ive heard the most good things about the kenda klaws lately. these will probably be my next tires although it will be hard to get away from the razrs that have treated me so well. they seem to be about the best tire for the MX track, but also get good reviews from all kinds of other riders.

dont know much about the kenda knarly but they seem to be another decent tire. most like these or the klaws from kenda. havent heard or seen anything about the new kenda line, i geuss time will tell how good those tires are.

Holeshot HD's are Balloon tires??????:huh

i have razrs front and rear for my trail times, and honestly.. they bite the big balls except for dry stuf, when it gets wet they seem to not hook up worth a thing, but im gonna be doin that thing where u get a dremel and cut the middle of the tread and see how they do then

He hasn't been winning lately has he? Chris Borich is the new gncc god and it's his year to win. I believe he runs the razr tires front and rear also.

I just want a tire that will hook up good.. throw some nice roosts and just get the job done. Ya know? is there anything like that for $60 or under that will satisfiy (sp?) my needs?

zlam27
03-04-2005, 09:00 PM
if you want some great all around tires that will last a while and hook up good all around, get razrs or razr2s. these both roost really well and are great trail tires.

go with those or kenda klaws or knarlys. i dont think these throw near the roost or anything, but they are supposed to be some great tires also.

its up to you, but i would go with the razrs or klaws personally.

My razrs seem to do alright, they hook up really well in soft clay or moist ground, anything too sloppy they suck though. other than that theyre not a bad tire, wear pretty well too. the only part of the tire that seems to be showing a little wear is the side treads from all the sliding i like to do... but next time im on the market for some new tires i think ill be looking elsewhere.

if you are just play riding and want a tire that will last get either the holeshot xc's or razr. make sure its a 6 ply. the newer holeshots and razrs do hook up better, but the knobs are softer and wear much quicker, plus they cost more. both of those tires hook up good enough for play riding and they should last as long as you want them to.

I have had about all of them and for trails I like the knarlys because the good for trail riding and they don't cost that much I go throw tires almost as fast as I go throw gas lol.
