valve adjustment

well its been 3 years since i have bought my 250ex, new, and i tinhk i need a valve adjustment. when it is idleing, i can hear a little ticking on the top of my engine. this happened on my old breeze, but it was so bad it would not idle. mine is not bad but i was just wondering if i should adjust the valves, or is it something else?

If they haven't been done in 3 years, yes adjust them.

this is for a 400ex but its done the same way. just find out what your clearances need to be.
