help !!!

i stripped out the threads in the tapped hole in the head to put in the exhaust stud how do i get the stud to stay iin ? i need help asap!!:(

you can either go buy a heli coil kit for it(autozone carries them, or buy a size bigger stud and tap it out and screw new one in.

whats a helicoil kit ? im kinda new to 4 stroke stuff in 2 strokes we use springs:D

basically the same thing. just come sized with the tap all includes with several heli coils. or if you have taps then they sell single coils fore cheaper. Cant remember where i saw them Autozone or pep boys, same kinda store though.

my local honda shop put a helicoil in for my oil filter cover for 30 bucks. works great

is this something i could do myself in my garage with just basic tools or would i need a mechanic to do this for me ?:confused:

i would say basic tools, just go look for the kitand if you think you can do it go for it. Just go slow!!!

thanks ill be looking for this probably tommorrow or something another questions should i ride it like this or is it going to be bd for the bike?

helicoils are easy to put in.. but the first one will be kinda tricky.. once you do one tho, youll beable to do it with your eyes closed.. just go slow, take your time, and youll beable to pull it off..

The helicoil will hold alot tighter than the original threads will also.. the helicoil is made of STEEL and will holdfast inside of the head

thanks do i have to get a certain size or is it a one size fits all kinda thing ?

youll have to get your thread count/diamiter for your application.. so i would at least take the stud in there to get what you need... peckerboys and autozone are pretty good on letting you open the packge to make sure itll fit..
