no company makes any...but take some masking tape, make out the design u want on ur plastic..and take a jigsaw or a sawzall and cut it out. afterwards take a filer and smooth out the edges

hey, the only company i know of that makes plastics for the 250ex is Planet Honda, you can find the ads in Dirt Wheels magazine, the plastics look pretty nice too, i say just dont let anyone else ride you quad and when you get off your quad dont drag your feet on the back plastics cuz thats how they get the most messed up. ive had my quad for 2 years and my back plastics are still in pretty decent condition. goin out riding now.. peaaaace

ill try to post the pics soon digital cameras messed up right now:grr: theres a pic of one in the 250ex photo gallery.for now just put some tape down and see if you like it. if you dont, dont cut it.oh and i cut mine with a regular handsaw and filed it smooth.

A couple of days ago I Emailed Maier about making some custom plastics. They said it would cost hundreds of dollars and I would have to order a minimum of 25 pairs.:(

05-05-2005, 09:10 AM

I know that the 250x has been made off and on for a few years but I don't see why you can't use the "race cut" plastics from the early years on the new machines. You might need to make some brackets but I'm sure you could find used stuff for cheap or
buy new. Have a look. http://www.maier-mfg.com/shop.cfm?action=list&page=list.cfm&criteria=101&makeid=10&modelid=167 then you could but the 400/250r hood on with out much trouble.

priebo15
06-07-2005, 09:02 AM
well, some of us want to keep our headlight, and others(like me) dont want to waiste 100 bucks on plastics and then the idea not work.

ok thanks alot is it easy to do? I might possibly drill holes in my plastic to put the nuetral/reverse/key holes on. Looks good! Thanks

Quiksilver01
06-28-2005, 08:14 AM
dont drill holes in your plastic for the ignition.. i did that at first and i didnt like it.. now i just made a mount out of plastic.. and i like it alot better.... or do like priebo and zip tie them.. jmo

Quiksilver01
06-28-2005, 07:11 PM
actually the holes were just fine and the perfect size but i just didnt like them... i guess its just personal preferance... but if you do remove the plastic thing that holds the ignition your guna want new handlebars cuz the stock ones look like crap in my opinion plus they bend easy.. ill try to post pics later tonight if i can..
