Dr gave me two thumbs up to return to work tomorrow~! Im going to the Chiropractor for a few treatments on my back and having him work on my hands and Arms a bit to help with circulation .. Maybe he can help with all my Arm pump a little bit
Im REALLY excited ,my Dr. was very happy to see how quick I recovered and said most case like that dont turn out that good . My work release says.... I still have alot of bruising to heal and some blood clotting in my back that could take 2 months to go away, but Im feeling MUCH better!!

"Tina Lugan may resume full time work and all activities "

hehee....ALL ACTIVITIES...... lol..... Im gonna beg Troy to let me as least ride the track EASILY Sunday after the racing... Im so sad not riding.... I promise to be good for a month but I gotta ride a little ...

Lucky you!!!
I saw the orthopedic specialist about back problems and he kept me out of work for 4 months. After 4 months, he released me to return to all activities if I agreed to see a chiropractor on a regular basis. I did return to work and light riding, and started feeling really good. After about 3 months, one day I woke up unable to move and in the worst pain of my life. Felt like someone was pulling my spinal cord out with a pair of vise grips!!!! OUCH
Long story short, I ruptured 2 discs, had to have them removed and the vertibres fused and I may never be able to ride again!
So Please be extremely careful!!!!!!!
The MRI's I had before the chiropractor visits only showed one disk slightly herniared, after following the doctors orders and seeing a chiropractor regularly, here i am almost crippled.
Don't Jump Right Back Into Riding!!!!! Let The body heal

I dont care if its just rolling over all the tabletops or a day in the sand ... Ive been depressed literally abotu being cooped up and watching everyone atthe track makes things hard .:ermm:

dude stay the hell away from the chiropracter! he/she is just hurting you more than you know
i had the exact same thing happen to my back 2 herniated discs but i checked around for any alternative operations procedures because i need to ride.
turns out i had disc decompression therapy done where they go into your disc with a wire and heat up the disc from the inside .scar tissue forms over the herniation and now a year later my back feels better than it ever did!this proceedure is done once and takes anywhere from 9 mos. to a year to heal properly
im telling you that this works!! i would definatly check into it.
the actual name is
percatinascious disc decompression therapy
i dont know why they call it therapy though because its an operation

oh yeah and it hurts like nothing youve ever felt before in your life!! but its worth it

Ive heard something about the disc decompression from someone the other day.

I personally have had very good luck with Chiropractic care since I was the age of 15. But Ive never had to have anything with my discs before either. I am amazed how many peeps out ther have dics problems :eek2:

yeah i lived with 2 herniations for 7 years before i did anything about it
that was a lot of pain
doc said it was unusual for me because im not overweight but i still have degenerative catlidge disease in my back so im not 100% pain free but the doc says it wont really bother me till my 50's

I had alot of tests on my muscles yesterday some were extremely imflammed and yet others they said showed good signs (no breaking down of mucles I guess thats common after 30)
So I take it you had to do extensive therapy??? Do you feel the excersizing they gave you made your back stronger?

Tina
I am in therapy 3 times a week. and yes the excercises that they make me do definately make me stronger a little bit at a time. I hope that by 1 full year after my surgery I will slowly be able to get back into riding. I don't thik I'll be clearing 80 foot doubles or ripping through the woops anymore. But some riding is better than none!!!

I never had a problem with my lower back until I gave birth to my first child. It just changes your body more than one would ever think. Then there is the other stuff we do to our backs. I feel like I am 30ish but my back can feel like its 60ish. Alive (the blue OTC pills) works great for me. Good luck on the little tabletops. Remember discs compress when landing.
play safe
ride safe:p
