I listen to everything but rap or that hardcore head banger like Slip Knot crap. I mean if you want a headache i guess you can listen to that. The only country i listen to is Toby Keith cuz he is the man. I love classic rock. Ive been to Lynard Skynard concerts, Genesis concerts, Journey, Eagles, and lots other. Well plus i went to Live Aid in 85 and pretty much everyone was at that concert so i guess i have seen them all :D

So, I'm the only one in here who listens to what most people call headbanging death metal slip knot crap? (I call it that so people will know what I am talking about)

Pretty much, I listen to country for the first about 10yrs of my life, because thats all my mother would listen to.
I need some relief.

Classic stuff is alright (like skynyrd and such..)
but the new stuff I think is just.....no.......It wouldn't even be that bad if they didn't have to make up a story about some old black guy they used to know or anything. They could use the same rythems and music and just write different lyrics and you could have a new song. Pretty much what it all sounds like. You hear one song with the people who think they can play guitar good, then you hear the same music but different lyrics, and its a brand new song.....that's rediculous. I have yet to hear a country song with a kickass guitar solo  .

That's my opinion. I pretty much like almost everything but rap and country.

For instance, my favorite band would probably be Metallica, since that's probably the only band you country guys would recognize.

No, you guys have your own tastes, but country just ain't for me, and that's my 2 cents about it.

Nope, I love the 'headbanging death metal Slipknot 'crap'" I'm not really sure what what "crap" all entails, but I do like my music heavy:D

Do country singers now days even write their own music? IMO it's one thing to be able to sing and sing well (because god knows I can't) but it's another thing to be a musician all across the spectrum.

i like the song, but personally i wish he'd get out of the islands and back to his roots. his new CD sucked. When the Sun Goes Down is probably one of my all-time favorites.

Some other guys i like are Tim McGraw, George Strait (buy his 50 Number Ones CD, its great), Garth Brooks, Gary Allan, Trace Atkins, Chris Cagle, Brooks and Dunn (I cut Kix Brooks' grass, the dude has an obsession with yellow cars), Dierks Bentley, and Rascal Flatts.

I still need to see Gary Allan and Cagle live though...i was supposed to see Gary open for Rascal Flatts when they came up here, but his wife killed herself like 3 days before the concert- so Julie Roberts opened instead

and i wont get the chance to see garth live either...:(

country music is always about the same thing, sung by the same people, all the same guitar chords... then if you actually listen to country music radio, they only play about 10 different songs all day, then theres always like a variety hour, im always like wtf is the variety? The commercials?

The Muzik Mafia is made up of Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson, Cowboy Troy, and Shannon Lawson.

They all used to play at the same bar on 12 avenue in Nashville...I like big and rich, but Save a horse ride a cowboy sucks.
