i never heard of a stage three i dont think, stage two is more mid end to top end,and stage one is low end to mid end

I just finished installing my stage two, make sure your intake are .13 and exhaust is .15 for the valves, and run it for a half a hour at above 3000 RPM and dont let it idle to break it in,then just do a normal break in with the rest of the gas in there, and after that you should be good

This may sound like a dumb question, but what exactly is a hotcam and what do they do. Ive heard everyone talk about them. How easy are they to put on.

well they are inserts that you put into your exhuast bearings.. you have to remove your exhuast then remove the bearing then install the hotCAM.. then once you install your hotCAM you have to retime your dylithium crystal to accept the new hotCAM exhuast bearing replacement module..

Um what quad are those clearances for. I'm pretty sure they are .005 intake and .006 exhaust. Also they do have a stage 3 now that I have seen advertised.

400ex,that is what a lil red card said that came with the camshaft,no biggie, and i read the owners manual and it was smaller so im guessing those are wrong anyway, lol i g2g send my motor out anyway,so that is the only reason why i took it apart, and now i see how easy it was to do,and now i wont be afraid to rip into my motor again

:o I don't have a subscription to crap wheels

there's no mention of it on there website, matter of fact they don't make a stage 3 cam for ANYTHING if there is a stage 3 then that's unheard of news, do me a favor and do some research on it, if it does exist i'm curious to hear the specs on it

Yeah I went on their website too and didn't see it, but it is in the dirt wheels ad. I think I'm going to give them a call right now.

OK guys I just got the downlow from hotcams. I called them up and this is what I got. They dont have the specs for lift and duration yet for this new cam. The current stage 2 is now the stage 3. The new stage 2 is the new designed cam. It is basically a cam that wont lose as much bottom end as the old stage 2's and wont have as much top end as the old stage 2's. So basically the stage 2 got made into the stage 3 and then they made a new cam to fall in between the stage 1 and old stage 2 if that makes any sense. So it's kind of misleading. The new stage 2 is the new cam and the stage 3 is the old stage 2. They dont have any specs yet the guy said they were not available yet.

I wish Hotcams would have come up with a better numbering system, all this is going to do is confuse people for the next couple of years.

One cam isn't better than the others. Each one is designed for different riding styles and motor configurations.

well you dont want to install a part that is for low end when the rest of the mods that you have are for mid-top end range,so i would say stage two bro
