Hey do any of you have a kickstarter on your YFZ? If so give me some feedback if you could. Was it worth the investment? Was it easy to install? Does it start easy? This past weekend I ran into a problem that I belive could have been solved with a kickstart back up, this is the reason for asking. Pics are also welcomed!! Thanks for any info, Later......Josh

easy to install!! works great.....look at the back of the fender and Yami has some marks as to wear to trim the fender... I was not happy with having to trim the fenders at first but I got used to it!!!!

I have one bike that has electric start and the GYTR kick start, and one bike that has the electric start removed, and uses a YZ250 kick starter. the GYTR is easier to use, but with the YZ kickstarter you don't have to cut your plastic.
I am puting the electric start back on the second bike. IMO, unless you are a pro level rider, there is very little advantage of removing the electric start. AND if you do stall it, with electric start, you can start it again before you stop.

Unless you're serious about racing, kickstart is prob. not for you. Installation is easy if you're mechanically inclined. Benefits are reduced wait and faster accelleration due to less rotational mass on the flywheel after starter clutch and gears are removed.

I have had 2 races end due to electrical problems on the YFZ. I am still looking into it. THanks, Josh

I would at least buy it as a back so if you blow a fuse 5 miles away from camp you don't have to walk it. :eek2:

It's a good mod. if you're going to use it as a back up for long trail rides as well.
