DVD converter freeware

Anyone know of freeware for converting .vob files to MPEG? I've found a few trial versions that will allow either 5 minutes of video or 30% of whatever you're converting. I've got a few videos off my camcorder that I'd like to put in MPEG or WMV so I can email them to my brother.

When we upload with our camera, the program we use lets us choose what format we want to use when we go to save it, even before actually recording.
