axle questions

ok heres the problem, broke the lsr axle in our 400. they sent us a new one but something aint right, when you tighten the lock nut down you run out of threads way before it is tight, i have added 2 large washers on the brake hub side to take up the slack but i shouldnt have to do this, i noticed on service honds microfiche that they show 2 37mm o-rings that go on this side, we do not have these, are they rubber ? wouldnt think so but something is throwing this axle off so the lock nut will not tighten down without running out of threads.

If you haven't one so already, check that there is a 400ex stamped on (punched in) the axle.

Did you change anything else on the rearend?
