guys i need help asap on my friends z it ownt strat it turns over and was sitting for 1 1/2 years i put oil new clutches new gas and cleaned the sparkplug it will eventually fire afetr cranking for almost 40 mins and run for abour 5 seconds only at 1/4 throttle though and when you let off it only will sputter and pop and if you put a lod on it go to drive it just stalls help am i doing something wrong ? i need help fast !!!

put a new plug in it. That should fix it.

Did you put fresh gas in it?

yep its fresh 93 octane gas a full tank and i will buy a new plug the old one seemd fine thou i have a sand blaster for plugs and i blasted it held it to the head and it makes spark and lots of it so i put it in and it tries to fire but just cant it semms its trying to but cant unfortunatly

Clean the carb real good.The old gas probably has it gummed up.

Even if you see spark on the head does not mean you have good spark under compression.

im going to buy a spark plug tommrrow maybe depending if i can get out of my driveway supposed to have about 4- 16 inches of snow :( i hate it got outta school early thou :D but ill try a new plug and cleaning the carb could it be the jetting is extremely far off? its jetted for the summer wich is about 90 and its like 30 now could that be it ?

Take the carb off and clean it out and while you have it off jet it a little richer. Maybe one higher pilot, one clip lower, and at least 2 sizes maybe 3 on the main. Oh and we aint getting that much snow it looks.:mad:

yea it probly the carb. i dont think we are getting that much snow either and getting out of school today was pointless but i didnt mind

Jetting should be fine if nothing was changed. CLEAN the carb REALLY good. Everything in it, blow all hose out, fresh gas in the entire system,new plug and once it starts for a bit let it run and clean it's self out for a bit.
