What cool cars for $20k-25k?

My Gf looking to get a new car, right now she has a '04 Grand Am.

She wants to trade it in for a '05 Mazda 6 which is a pretty sweet car for $20k, interiors cool looking and all around its not bad.

We also need something with 4 doors. I was thinking about a Honda or Acura, but for an Acura all I can find is a RSX and its only 2 doors, and Hondas got the Accord and civic,.. I knwo I dont want a civic and I think I like the Mazda 6 more than the Accord.

Soo, I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions before we go out car shopping this week. Something we might wanna consider or look at.

You might check out the Acura TSX. It's basically the Euro-spec Accord, and pretty nice, IMHO.

The Mazda 6 is a good choice too! :)

Acura TSX is a sick car, but my buddy's mom just got a mazda 6 5-speed and the thing flies.

I just got rid of my TSX in November. I really liked the car a lot. It was pretty quick for a 4 banger. Very comfortable to drive, quite and 4 doors.

I didn't have a bit of problem with mine, I just traded it it for a truck. Kind of miss it but oh well.

Go with a Toyota Celica GT-S. I have one and Its the best car I have owned. Runs great, very fun 6 speed tranny, leather, Well, It has everything. And It's fairly fast also. Put exhaust and a intake and your set. If not that get yourself (or your girlfriend) A VW GTI 1.8T

I have driven a Dodge Neon SRT-4 and man it was nice. It had the turbo and that thing made it fly. It was nice and fast. The Mazda 3 looks pretty good too, I like that Mazda 3 sport wagon or whatever its different and looks good.

I'd say go for the srt-4 if she likes to drive fast. The only bad thing I saw when I sat in one is that the rear window are manually operated and the fronts have power.:huh They were and might still be the fastest car around $20,000.

I just got the new Tiburon GT V6...I like it a lot! Drives very smooth and its pretty quick. Cheap too.

screw the 4-bangers, there's no replacement for displacement. Get a mustang Gt, those are in the mid to low 20 grand, and a stock mustang could waste all those lil 4-bangers. I would recommend a single cab ram with the hemi, that's what i got, and i can beat stock mustang gt's, and all the lil imports, beat me a new rx-8 last night.

you can get a 2003-04 nissan 350z for like $22,000 - 24,000. those cars are awesome. don't buy a tiburon cause they are made in north korea and you don't want to support them.

get a srt-4 or wrx. srt-4 is fast and cheap, oh ya theres no traction....

The trade-in is going to be a bloodbath. I'd bet even a top of the line, perfect condition, low miles '04 Grand Am would bring no more than $15,000 as a trade. For about $20,000 you could get a decent '05 Mustang V6. You could probably get a 1-2 year old WRX too. I had an '04 Mazda 6 loaded but with the 4 cylinder for 8 days as a rental car in FLorida this past Fall. Awesome little car. The inside is a bit tight, but my 6 and 3 year old boys were OK in the backseat. Very tight handling and well balanced, even though I hate front-wheel-drive with a passion. It moved out OK, but like all 4 cylinders, even powerful ones, it has to rev up moderately high to get into the power. The V6 is quite a bit stronger, and I'd have to get that engine myself. I believe you can get a loaded 4 cylinder one for about 20 Grand.

I believe the Tiburons and other Hyundai products are made in South Korea.

I would think the US wouldn't want anything to do with Hyundai if they had manufacturing facilities in North Korea.

I have an 03 gt v6 (new body style) and I have to say, it's pretty quick. Its a 2.7L V6 with 185 HP. Plus, I only got it for 12g with 29,000miles and a factory warranty. Can't really beat that.

Thats the dumbest statement I have heard all week.

I can name a bunch of "4 banger" imports that will destroy a mustang gt.
Rx8 has what? like roughly 250hp .. and 162ft of torque? think that might be a problem....
and hey .. the rx-8 is a mazda ... mazda is ford .. mustang is ford ..import huh?
