I coated my exhaust with a flame proof spray on ceramic paint...it helps the heat scavaging and gives a slight boost in HP (maybe 1). The application is easy, but I didn't not cure it in the oven correctly (you do it like powdercoating) and it flaked on the headpipe. I will have to do it over again but here is how it looked...not a bad mod for a cheap $6 can. You can get Spray on header ceramic coating at any hotrod shop in your area and they usually carry it in black or silver....

how did you prep the pipe?

the flaking is usually caused by prep or lack there of. the exhaust can be cured on the quad, even ceramic coating (jet coating) can be done this way but its still best to cure in an oven at the required temp.

Here is the ceramic exhaust update....

I put it on in very light coats, this time in black, with ample drying time in between coats. I even cured the exhaust twice in the oven; once during the first set of coats and second after all coats had been sprayed on....took longer but the finish was perfect, no bubbling. Do it right the first time though because stripping ALLL of the previous finish was a beeyatch.
