ESR says that if you buy a 330 bolt on kit you have to have a long rod. are you better off buying ESR stroker cranks or just getting a longer rod? if so do you have to split the case??

If you buy the bolt on kit you avhe to get teh long rod so you do not have to have your cases machined. I got a 5mm stroker crank with my 330 non bolt on kit so i had my cases machined and that put me at 350cc. Either way you have to split your cases because they both involve messing with the crank or machining.

The bolt on kits require a long rod to avoid hitting the case and if you get a stroker crank the rod will hit the cases. So with either the bolt on kit or the non-bolt on kit you have to split the cases to either put the long rod on or to install the stroker crank. The bolt on kit does not require machining like ESR says but you still ahve to split the cases to install the long rod. I am not sure about the powervalves, I would assume it is the same deal, It either needs to be split to put in the long rod or machineed for the storker crank.
