I have the LA sleeve 453 kit in my KFX and it is awesome. Not sure what you mean about a 440 sleeve with a 455 piston. Are you going to bore the 440 out to make the piston fit?? I have about 6 hrs on my 453 and it has no problems with leaks. I have a friend with the 470 FST and it leaks water like a wicker basket.
Please explain what you are trying to do??

My buddy just put a 440 kit in his fourwheeler and it got into the water jacket. He tried everything to seal it but he had to scrap the cylinder and bought a new 435 kit for lukesracing. I have another buddy that put a 440 in and it sealed. Back to the orginal question I am not sure what you are asking either.

I will be using a big bore steel sleeve instead of the nickal plated stuff. With a 455 piston. Wondering if anyone has had problems using just a steel sleeve

Its not the sleeve they are having trouble with its when you bore the jug to put the big sleeve in you bore into a water jaket and it will leak around the sleeve. I pefer nickel plated cylinder its supposed to be better.

one of my buddies has a yoshi450 kit on his Z. He almost has the speed as stock R's but no where near the power. He loses races from 3-6 bike lenghts.

I heard about the leaking thing. They say they put epoxy or something of that kind (jb weld). Where are they doing this and how??coat the sleeve before install, stick the tube down the jacket pocket??

If anyone has pic's or info on this please let me know.
Or a link to somewhere.

thanks

My buddy tried aluma seal and something else I can't remember and it still didn't fix it. We have put a 440 kit in a Z400 and it held but you just got to be careful because there is only fraction of clearance between the sleeve and the water jacket. That 440 that worked we still had a little hole we just got it to seal up with aluma seal. The one that leaked it had a pretty large hole. I recommend the 435 kit from lukesracing thats what we have been putting in Z400 now.
