OK so its sae 15w-40 multigrade and when its cold it starts up a little hard but its usually not to much of a problem and i live in iowa so it gets pretty cold in the winter.

If I were you, to get the best from your quad, would stay with the Honda oil (or whatever quad brand you have). I heard to stay away from car oil. Someone said it's not near as healthy or something. This is all based on hearings so I may be wrong.

ok well im not sayin your wrong or anything but it says some stuff on the bottle about supposibly being pretty good for a harder workin engine and stuff and i could be very wrong to cause im not the smartest about engines either but i know for sure that quad engines take a bigger beating than most car engines:D

Yea they do, thats for sure. I just based what oil I should use on what I've heard. Maybe it's totally cool to use that rotella oil.

They do contracts once a year or however often for it and they go with whoever gives them the cheapest bid. That means you could be using different types of oil and dont know it. In my experience and my opinion its better to run the same oil in a motor its whole life. Dont change the brand or weight all the time. Thats just my thinking though. That being said I run Rotella T 15w-40 in my bikes. That is the synthetic oil and it works great.
People are probably warning you about the car oils that have friction modifiers in them. Friction modifiers...I beileive they are also called mollys.....arent good for a clutch. It will cause the clutch plates to slip. Neither Rotella or Rotella T have friction modifiers in them. And its a better oil than whatever Honda is currently putting in their bottles.

I think Honda or whatever oil is just regular oil with a honda sticker on it. I am not spending 3 time as much for it. I have been using mobil 1 red cap but they stoped making it so I think I am switching to rotella T.
