Well I finally sold my 400ex,I`m gonna miss that quad never had one problem the whole time I owned it,but, time for the good news picked up new 450r about 4 hours ago wont be able to ride it till tomorrow.
Just wanted to know if there was anything i need to keep an eye on, and should I break it in like I`m gonna ride it or take it easy.
Thanks for any help.

I broke mine in like I ride it. You will need to keep an eye on the three allen bolts that hold the heat shield on the head pipe. I would put high temp threadlocker on them. Also put some threadlocker on the bolt that holds the kickstarter on.

break it in like you're going to ride being careful to stay away from really high revs and avoid keeping the rpms at a constant speed.
Change your oil after a few hours and then go beat the hell outta her.

Thanks for your help took her out for a little test ride today WOW what a difference from the 400 its like a toy compared to the 450 going to my buddys track tomorrow cant wait.
Also I got some mx holeshots from the 400 20s for the front 18s for the rear put stock tires back on the 400 when I sold it, will they fit on the 450? How much difference will it make on the high gearing? Thanks again
