Raptor starter relay Question

Sorry to bother ya guys, but I think I traced my starting problem back to the relay, Its been blowing fuses and I just replaced the battery. The batterys putting an output of 12.5 volts which is standard, but my question to you guys is, Do you think the relay from an 05' is the same as an 01'? In other words, would I be able to take a relay from an 05 and place it in an 01? Thanks guys.

I would think it should work. There's not much to a relay, so as long as it has the same physical dimensions, you should be good to go. And, as far as I know, Yamaha hasn't made any changes to the electric start system since its introduction.


You mentioned that you were blowing fuses. Have you checked all of the wiring in the starting circuit to make sure there are no shorts?
