Went riding in the snow last night and all of a sudden my engine started making all kinds of noise and dies on me.It wont start again and everytime I try to theres just a bunch of chatter coming frm the motor.

if your lucky its your started and a fowled plug or blown fuses or something but i highly doubt it is. rip it apart and find out.

Yea I know Im gonna have to rip it apart I just wanted to get some ideas on what could be wrong.Im thinking of just sending the whole motor th emickey dunlap to get a 500 stroker.

I have heard of a timing chain/cam gear problem before on the z's but figured it was a freak accident. Let us know what you find out!

I bet it might be the starter clutch bolts backed out and sheered off against ya stator,ruining it.Its kinda common,check it first.

do u have a kill switch or anything also one thing is that when you turn the key does the light for neutral come on when its in neutral. if not u need a new battery. but i dout ridin in the snow will do that cause i ride in the streets when it snows all the time and my shiz never broke down yet lol.

Its not the batteery. How do I check the starter and what do I check for? Is there a fix?

no clue how to check the starter but positvie its not that when u try to start it is it gettin juice? if it is then its not the starter.

I know the problem isnt the starter cause its turning the engine over but I the starter was slipping really bad before the motor quit. It sounds like a timing chain, just hope I didnt drop a valve.
