I have went through 2 AC grab bars the first time it was clearly my fault why it broke cuz the throttle stuck. But the second one i just tapped it and it bent up.

I am looking for a better grab bar i usually go with AC on everything but they are really disapointing me. I heard PRM is pretty good?

which would you rather have bend?
your grab bar?
or your sub-frame?

the grab bar obviously but its rediculous how lightly i tapped the grab bar, i was basicly coasting and it just touched.

I can build u one out of chromalloy (sp) and I will never bend!
But with the aluminum sub frame, I would rather bend grab bars any day!!!!

I have the Pro Armor rear grab bar and I am really happy with it. I have tested it a few times and I do not think I have gotten more then a small scratch on it. I can send you a pic if you want to see what it looks like on a R

i found a small company here in Indiana that makes armor and bumpers and grab bars. so being firly close to my house i went out there and looked at his stuff during production. on thing that cought my eye was his grab bar. it resembled a PRM desert bar but a lot thicker and stronger. i don't have any great pics but here is what it looks like.

so far the bar has been a wheelie bar, a push bar, an anchor point, you name it. it was hit from behind by a 650lbs 4x4 and it didn't even dent. the thing is strong. here is a link to his website

I use the same grab bar as dn1911... Its great and seems to slide on the ground more then any other grab bar... Since it dosnt catch I dont think im going to bend my subframe unless I hit really hard...

Heres an old pic of my R...

mike, did you have any problems with it bending or anything? i think the AC ones are pathetic the stock is much stronger. how does the PRM compare to stock?

they are not as wide as they look in the picture. they are the perfect width to get a good hold on it if you have to pic it up. i will try to get some measurments tonight.
