Has anyone else had their frame crack?

my frame cracked below the fuel tank on the right side. when i had the regional honda rep. look at he said he had never heard of this before. Has anyone else had this problem if so does anyone have any pics. ?

alot of hard riders have had this problem.

i hear what sounds like cracking all the time! i ckech every weld everytime and nothing yet. yet is the key! the way i ride , it will happen. does honda warrenty that ?

Honda is not wanting to cover this because of a widened axle and arms. i said earlier that it was on the right side it is on the left side by the fuel shut off. again they say they haven't been notified of this problem before (i know that can't be right)

I have heard a rear suspension upgrade will help prevent the frame breaking.

if they won't fix it call hondas 1-800 number and tell them your story..the headquarters will straighten them out real quick and you'll be treated like royalty

join the club man I can't stop mine from cracking it's a good thing i'm good with a welder i'm talking to my dealer and trying to get it warranteed and I have a rear shock on mine. Maybe one of these days I'll have to gusset it i guess.

mine is starting to hairline crack there. just gusset it. By the time you get a frame it will be next year.

over the past racing season my frame suffered 11 cracks in all. it broke in every spot ever mentioned on these forums. after the season was over i took it to my honda dealer and they got me a new frame from honda. got that one all gusseted up, and powdercoated, hopefully i won't have as many problems this year. i have the elka linkage on the way too so that should help alot,,, i hope.

for alot of you that are cracking your frames like crazy, you need to get a good dialed in suspension setup. Laz from gtthunder races pro in the GNCC class and he doesnt not gusset the frame one bit because he has his suspension set up real nice so its absorbing everything that could possible break a frame.

I've broke and welded mine a few time already... That stuff happens when you ride hard.

I never heard of any factory frame that stood up to MX'n and hard riding like most of us do!

I know I had gussetted my 400ex frame in 8 diffrent places and now my 450R is to. I still love this QUAD!

how long does honda's warranty last? If mine is gone (i bought my 2003 used) is there any chance I could talk to someone at honda into helping me out? My frame is bent in the front and im not sure how it happened. I know this is a 450r forum but you guys have been talkin about warranties and it got me thinkin.

Warranty is normally six months from date of purchase unless you buy the extended warranty.

Great news Honda is going to cover my broke frame under warranty! The Honda rep. didn't want to but the dealer really backed me up. Thanks to all the guys at PLANO HONDA!

bennett motor sales in central ny, near cooperstown, did all my warranty stuff. and got me a new frame, and it was well over six months.

Ive landed flat off of a LOT of bigger jumps, like 60 ft tables, landed flat off my freestyle ramp more than once, cased a 90 ft table and wrecked, cased a 30 ft double. guess how many times my frame has cracked?--------------------------------zero.

Must be different for everyone, my friend has cracked his 450r frame in 16 places. He's got a new frame now lol.

that's good your frame has not broken (but you might what to check it over real good) You don't want to find out on a hard landing.
