new dune rider

I will be new to the dunes this summer, I live near silverlake mi. so that is where i'll spend my weekends. How should i expect to rate against other riders mainly dragracing assuming i am a decent rider with an 04 400 ex, fmf powercore 4, fmf powerbomb header, jetted, k&n filterkit, and rev box. i weigh 160 lbs and will have paddle tires by then, what kind im not sure.

you'll do okay, you should be able to run against most other 400's but don't even look at the 2 strokes or 450's!! you'll definetely have tons of fun, though...

you will do fine agains other 400's, some z's, but dont even line up against any of the 250r's, banshees, or the 450's. alot of the banshees your going to see will be tricked out for dune riding only. where abouts in west michigan do you live im from the gr area and im up there almost every weekend.

if you have never riden dunes, here are two helpfull tips
1. always stop with your nose pointing down hill or you will bury the backend.
2. always look ahead of you when cresting tops of hills. my step son still walks with a cane from a crash at silver last Memorial day

I also go to silver a lot (1 or 2 times/month).

how would a 250r with a pipe and jet kit do against a yfz or 450R in a hill drag race. I know i have no chance against a built banshee. I

my buddy has a R and he does good for about 1/2 the drag race then once the yzf or 450r gets to its top end its all over. also going to depend what they have done to theres as well.

You will be fine out there i'm there just about everyweekend as soon as it opens, I have quads and sandrails, all you really need to do is watch for the other people around you they are the ones probably not paying attention. just have fun, drive safe, but let me know when your planning on going up i'll meet you there, i'll most likley be there with a group the more the merryer
