My buddy rolled his 400ex down a hill and bent the heck out of his steering stem. He bought another one on ebay and when he got it, it had about a half inch bend from the top frame mount up. He is not sure if it is soppose to be this way or if it should be strait all the way up. Can someone please help us out on this issue. Is it suppose to be strait or have a factory bend for some reason? Thanks.

No it is suppossed to be straight.I would recommend an anti vibe for a replacement or if your on a budget try www.servicehonda.com for a stock replacement.

Let the person know that sold it you on e-bay that it is bent and you are not satisfied. If they don't want to help then be sure to send a negative response in to the purchase. Brand new stock one's are only about $60. If you get a credit on the e-bay one then just buy one from your local dealer. If you end up buying a stronger than stock one then make sure you have strong handlebars also or they will bend in an accident.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you install a stronger aftermarket stem and bars, they may end up being so strong that the frame is what bends when you roll your quad. Of course, if you gusseted your frame, you'd be all good to go!

Just a thought... :)
