View Full Version : HELP! 300ex riders with hmf slip on

i just got my hmf in for my 300ex and it wont slide all the way onto the header. there is like a 1/4 to 1/2 inch gap and i cant get it to go on anymore. is that how it is supposed to be or what? need help asap

the exact tsame thing hapend to me, i just sprayed it with some wd-40 adn got a rubber mallet it takes some work to got it on but it will go. also my mounting brackets didnt liine up right so i could only bolt it on the back mount but it still worked

i have all of my mounts lined up just wont slide any farther
and i dont want to damage m,y new pipe so is there any other way to do it or is that how you pretty much
have to do it

tahts the only way to do it, have 1/4 and inch or even 1/2 an inch isnt gonna hurt it at all cause its still on there plenty

i dont think if i get it on the any farther it will fit on any of my bolt holes i have it all lined up now and it has a big gap i think that i will try to wd40 it and get them as close as i can

There was a gap on mine also. I asked HMF about it and they said that's normal. If the hole line up bolt it up.;)

same on mine, i just hit it on as far as it goes. I streched the pipe's flange with a socket and i finally got it on all the way. but if the holes line up, id say just mount it!

Exactly what I did. Worked fine, been riding on it since last june and still hasn't leaked.
