I had pork chops with peas, applesauce, and some left over chili that mom made. She cooks so good for all of us, and it is so awesome that she does it. I had to live off of crappy college food for a semester, so I am really appreciating the good food that mom makes every night.
It is an absolute PRIORITY to marry a girl that can cook well.

My own restaurant has been been a dream for quite some time. It's alot of work and most do it for the satisfaction rather than the money. Food service doesn't pay that well:(
Right now I work at an independant living facility (fancy old folks home). I took a step back from the hustle and bustle of upper end full service catering and restaurants.

Food service doesnt pay well, but you gotta pay well to get into food service. Our neighbor's son is in Culinary School in Atlanta and pays like 38,000 a year in tuition.
I was under the impression that top chefs in nice hotels and trendy restaraunts can make 200K + per year

They're usually tied down to their jobs:ermm:
I stepped back for awhile but lately i've been doing some side jobs with the boss. He likes my work, we both make some cash and I have nothing else going on......:ermm:

I'm sure top chefs in top Hotels get paid very well. Kinda like the CEO's of various corporations, they get paid well but those that do the 'hands on work' don't get nearly the pay that upper management gets. Most start at near minimum wage unless they have experience somewhere else.
It's not a bad career, just like most others, if you like what you do it offsets the negatives.

Last night my sister took me out to eat at a Mexican restaurant. I had a large sancho, cheese enchilada, soft taco, double rice, beans, chips and salsa, and tea:)
I can cook pretty well, it's a lot of fun. Growing up, I always wanted to cook in a fancy hotel, but...culinary school was a little too expensive for my liking.
But you can't beat a burnt hotdog cooked over an open fire at the dunes!:D God I love hotdogs!
