This past sunday some older guys and I meant up at the ice track for some fun. Haven't done this much but it is a rush. I can see where the TT guys get the adrenaline;)

He is my 426, guy there let me run a full set of 18's. The fronts are offset, DAMN with +3 a-arms is that thing wide:eek:

Yeah the fire was on the ice, and no we did not clean it up. We burn in the same spot every weekend. That whole place is a mess, burnt cars everywhere. I garentee if you leave your can out there for whatever reason, and it doesn't matter what kind its going to get burnt, and if not plastered full of holes. Exactly why I don't party out there in the summer;) Crazy *** rednecks....

how is the traction, do the studs dig so you can not tell that you are on the ice??

On the weekend we did a 24h endurance ice race. We had a team of six all sponsored by a local Honda dealership, as well as some parts distributors and other companies. We actually raced a Honda Rincon that had a big-bore 715 kit, MBRP exhaust system, K&N air filter jet kit, was lowered and widened. It was still not very fast, but we were ideally going for reliability not all out speed.

Our team also consisted of a pit crew, and everything else ( such as food ) was provided. We raced on a 20 km long track and were doing pretty decent until about 6 hours into the race the head gasket blew and we no longer had a quad to ride. It was a good thing that the owner had his personal rincon out there (complete with all kinds of useless crapp on it) because we were able to swap the wheel's , tire's, and spacer's over to it. We lost an hour doing it but still managed a respectable 7th place( considering we were ridng a stock Honda Rincon against 450's and YFZ's)

I will try to get picture of the "race" Rincon up sometime.

Ice racing is a blast. Im so disspointed im out for the rest of the season due to a fractured skull, fractured collar bone from 2 weekends ago. I was 5th in my class at the time, with 2 races to go in the season. Im down to 6th now, so hopefully i dont lose too much more standings. Injuries suck! I have some pics of ice racing here too.

I believe I am running about 1,000 screws per tire, or around there. Not 100% sure if that is what Danny said, but I am pretty sure. They hook up awsome, hit my limiter in 5th gear with them 18's. And that is with an aftermarket liiter, 10,200:cool:

no studs = no fun. If your on ice its a must for studs. I don't own any, so while waiting for Danny to show up I ride around...no fun what so ever. Unless you are into sprinning some mad 360's;)

it was funny, right afte the ICE series came to Idaho, my ole man ran out on the ice with my frineds Rappy with American Racers on it and on that roughed up ice he was sliding better than some of us were with studs!!! :huh

Ahhhh Looks like a ton of fun .... Wish I could be out there blasting around , cuz we have hardly any snow but about 3 feet of ice on the lakes . ;)

Got Nads ... was that the Numb Bum race that you rode?? I heard it's a pretty awesome race !!!!! How was the weather this year ?

Got nads?
02-24-2005, 05:16 PM
Yeah, it was the numb bum! The weather was pretty good this year. It was -8 on saturday, and about -20 during the night, then -5 on sunday. I think this was the warmest numb bum since it started. Hopefully next year we will be on a faster machine, even if it has to be my own. We still suprised a lot of people when we were passing them in the corners, 4wheel drive on ice works pretty well.:D

Got nads?
02-24-2005, 05:19 PM
Oh yeah the track this year was 21.6km long, we were doing a lap on average of 20 minutes. There was another local dealership with a built 450R (510kit) doing it in 17min. The 450R came in 3rd overall, only two dirtbikes beat it for 1st and 2nd overall.

hondarider2006
02-25-2005, 12:27 AM
I believe our track is around 3 miles long. I am going out again this sunday, I will get some more pictures. Don't mind all of the burnt cars if there is any:o

not sure about what kind of tires, or the screws:p I know you can get them at Magicracing.com, give C&D a call and see what they can hook you up with;)

Got nads?
02-25-2005, 05:24 PM
21.6 km is roughly equal to 13miles:D
