What atv to get

Hi, I was wondering which used atv i should get. They are both the same price. One is a 03' 400ex with a DG exhaust, jet kit, k&n, nerfs, dg bumper, swingarm skidplate, and black plastics. The other is an 03' z400 that is white and bone stock. I think the ex has gone through more abuse than the z. I was leaning toward the z beacause of its reverse, power, and looks, but i read reveiws that said that they are nothing but trouble. Then, I thought about the Honda reliability. I will be mainly trail riding and going through some mud etc and a little bit of jumping. Can soemone please help me with this?!?!?!?! Thanx

I really don't know what to tell you because I like my ex but my friends z is pretty nice too. I think the z sits up a little high for my liking and yes I have heard and been around a kfx400 (the same thing as the z) that has tranny problems. I have ridden both and they both have their own feel to them. So it's up to you but since I own a honda I would say go with that.

Oh and one more thing, the 400ex has a lot more extras on it and even though they are the same price, you would be spending quite a bit putting all the extras the 400ex has, on the z. And that's my two cents worth.

you post this in the zuki forum theyll prolly say get the z. I own a z and I love it. The z has more power and their engines are bullet proof. Its their frames that have had issues. Im not bashing 400ex's I love the low feal I just didnt feal the engine was as smooth as on the z/kfx.

I think im gonna get the ex b/c of all the upgrades. I would have to spend at least a grand more to get the upgrades on the z.

Well since the ex is beat up i wouldnt get a trouble quad i say keep lookin and find a nice 400ex

well, its not really beat up, the suzuki is just in better condition. Theres just a bit of discoloration on parts of the engine that is not too noticable unless you look real close......like where some bolts are.

i hate to say it but the z is a better deal, dg stuff is junk and it has a k&n filter that sucks dust. get the z and customize it to your liking

Arent the swingarms also bad on the z's. i read somewhere that they fall off and they have to get fully replaced.

liquid cooled z is a nice feature compared to the air cooled ex.. i have an ex for my cc bike right now and i like it... ITS A TOSS lol

i ahve a ex and i LOVE it!!! i heard the z had some tranny and swing arm problems, i wouldnt worry to much about the coolin cause i can go any were and my ex wont have a bit of problem, so i would go with the ex
