carb problems

I have a fcr 41mm carb and it ran fine about a week ago now it wont idle at all but it will run fine when the choke is one but as soon as you turn it off it stalls or if you give it gas it backfires real bad. Anyone know what would cause this

Must be lean if it'll only idle with the choke on. The choke cuts off the air to create a rich condition. Turn the fuel screw out under the carb in front of the bowl bolt to richen it up.
