reading a post a while ago, one of our fellow ex'ers said you can buy a complete shim kit for a cam swap for around 89.95? from where does any body know? whats the chance that a hrc kit cam wont need any changes?

i did not have to shim mine and the honda shop i deal with said they have only had to shim one. make sure you do not mix shim and buckets up. put it together masure if not right you can buy a shim to make it right.

I have put cams in three bike and all were fine when I did them but after a full season of racing on mine I had to change one shim.

The Zman was over on sunday and we checked his. We had to change two of them.

It is not a nessesity but sure is dam handy when you need it.

Also you get 140+ shims for $89, at $6 each from your honda dealer it wouldn't take long to pay for a set.

Hey Be sure to check the gap on the compretion release, out of all the ones that I have done none have been right, not even from the factory!

a heat cycle is when you get the engine up to operating temp and then let it coll down. some companys tell you to run you engine at a rpm range for x amount of time.
