the cost can very alot... on these things... how much are u lookin to spend...
1. the cam u get
2. if u port it and polish it and what stage u get...
3. if u do any carb mods or put on a new carb...

bottom line is 300$ for the cam and piston combo and its around 1500$ to 2000$ for a full race ready national 416 motor... but i doubt u want those...

my 406 with a tc cam, 10.8:1 piston, full race port, carb mod, stock pipe mod, new rockers and springs and the guy did it for me was right around 850$ + oils, a new k&n filter and some other ods and ends...

Terry @ Marcum's can get you the xr cam, a 10.8 CR piston & all the other odds & ends for abour $275. If you don't already have an aftermarket filter & exhaust, I'd recommend them as they will help a lot with the modded internals. A bore job will cost $60-80. So it could cost as little as $335-355, if you do the work yourself. You can see below what I have done, & it I feel it is well worth the cost. If I were to do it again, I would probably buy a different cam. The xr cam is an excellent cam, but it is still a "stock" cam, and it is the mildest one you can buy.
