Polishing Rear Axle???

I've polished many items on my 250R my snowmobile and so on. I polished my axle But I can't seam to get it to look right. It's not a stock axle, it's a dura blue and after sitting for a few years was starting to look bad. It has a nice shine from 5 feet away, but when you get up close some spots where it was starting to corrode are darker and the parts that wern't corroding are lighter. Anyone have any tips???????

Try throttle body cleaner, it worked on mine. It can even remove paint, so you can get the bare metal color.later
