started with 500 then 600 then 800 then 1000 grit. then finished it off with a buffer wheel on my dremel and used some blue magic polish

I have heard a lot about this Blue Magic. Where can you find it at? I did a scotch bright pad, then went to 800 grit then 1000 not done with it yet, then 1500, and then 2000 grit. I just can not get all the scratches and swirls out!

buffing will get the small scratches out. i just bought a die grinder off ebay, and i'm gonna try that out. i have been using a drill, but it only is like 2-3000 rpm. the die grinder i got is 25000! and supposidly about a third of a horse, so it should work a lot better than a wimpy dremel.

i was also wondering where to get the blue magic. i found an old can around my uncles shop, and i'm runnin a little low

go to wal mart or your local auto parts store.

I've used both mothers and blue magic, and blue magic is far better.

I like Alba's aluminum polish. It works great. It's blue too! Looks like you did a good job. Polished parts never look as good as they are in pictures.
