Almost bought a quad tonight

Well I was talking to a few friends of mine and I came across such a great deal! 1987 250x for 100 dollars, needed a topend, plastics and a pipe, soo i have my hopes up 100 dollars cash in my hand, I ask the year he tells me its a 1989 though there is no 1989 trx250x so i figure just a mistake, we drive all the way there, and he comes out, im happy my hopes are up he shows me the motor, and i kinda get a :ermm: look on my face, soo i just put it off and carry it to the truck, he takes me to the shed and shows me the quad, well lets just say it wasnt a trx250x, it was a good ol trx250, so i kinda laugh and tell him its not what i want and he tells me its a trx250r! well we all know they are 2 strokes ;)

soo heres what the beast looked like

you'll get one eventually. you should have told that guy he was misleading you and you could have gotten him in legal trouble- just because you're a kid doesnt mean you're an idiot.

That woulda been sweet if you coulda got a quad! that was one sweet 250r though! :o

They made 250x's until 92. Those trx250s are pretty sweet though. My friend has one that his dad bought new when they came out. He still rides it almost every day.

everyones told me there wasnt a 250x in 89, if there is i guess im an idiot then :o

250x from 87 to 92, then 300ex from 93 to present. Or atleast i thought it was that way. For some reason the only years i ever see on 250x's are 87 and 92 whenever they are for sale. Maybe they didnt sell very many that year?

there was next to nothing on the frame, didnt look like there was any of the wiring hardly, i could allways make it a bike to go down hills with lol
