How do you tighten the clutch center locknut to 80 ft. lbs. without buying the $160 tool from Honda or damaging the clutch basket and or gears? Thanks in advance.

Just use an impact.

And don't worry about the proper torque of 80 ft. lbs.?

Not unless you want to buy the 160 dollar tool.

I have used a penny before, it is softer metal so it wont hurt the gears.

Maybe you can explain how you used a penny. I can understand that you used the penny to stop the gears from turning but how is that going to help me tighten the center locknut?

Oh yeah, I use a big screwdriver for that... be careful though
