400ex Carb Quest?

Hey on the 400ex carb where is this clip everyone talks about that they move for i think is added airflow? I hear when they put exhausts on theyll change there main jet and move this clip to like the third position or something.. Im getting my HMF tomorrow and i just wanna know where its located thanks..

Thanks man that helped alot.. Do you think its necessary for me to move mine with the mods i have? Ill have a HMF slip on with a K&N filter with the lid on.. Ill of course have it rejetted itll prob end up being a 158 main..I am also 492 ft above sea level..

when mine had those mods, i liked how it ran with the clip down one position in the winter months but i liked it in the stock position for the summer months. i would look in to one of those little washer spacers that go under the needle. with the clip in the 3rd position and the washer under there, it will sit like it was in a 3.5 position.

Alright i got the pipe on i think i got everything figured out.. BUT it sounds like there may be a sputtering coming from the carb? Then it looks like it smokes a little bit.. But i can tell if its just something burning off?
