Word is out that they did away with the red cap oil. This is true. But they still make a 15W-50 oil which is what the red cap oil was.

THe new stuff DOES contain friction modifiers so do not use it. This coming from Mobil 1 themself not me talkin crap like usual.

Another synthetic for sure. I like the V-twin stuff they offer but it's $8 a quart... I"ll be looking around. No matter what it will be something at a local store.

I was thinking about trying the V-twin or the MX4T. Has anyone priced the MX4T yet?

Looks like ill be running the MX4T stuff now. It's probably much more expensive, but at least it's 10W-40. Oh well, whatcha gonna do.. :p If it gets too expensive, then I may switch to Motorex or Amsoil full syn.

Will the new mobil 1 red cap mess up the motor. I just put a quart of it in mine. Should I change it?

I dont think it causes any problems to the motor, its the clutch is messes up. Would it be alright to run the new stuff in a 450r that has seperate oils?

Look to see if its a 15w-50 viscosity. Mobil no longer offers a 15w-50 Mobil One so you should be fine if yours says 15w-50.

What about AmSoil oil? That is what I want to start running. Any opinions?

I checked it because I still had one of the bottles, and it was mobil 1 red cap 15w 50 and I bought it like a week and a half ago. They must not have run out of it at advance auto parts yet. Oh well, post what other oils you guys are going to run.

I posted this info in the powertrain section, but I'll be running this new stuff to see what happens. I've been told stiffer springs are all you need to fix the problem and it's not a life and death situation like we all think. I"ll reply back after a few hours of riding with the new Mobil 1..:D
