if they are that bad, the balls will fall out leaving the bearing race inside the carrier. take the carrier out and heat the aluminum a bit (outside of where the bearings are) and the race will come out alot easier. If it still dont move, get a welder and run a bead in a few places on the race (where the balls would normally run) and it will come out.

if its that bad...hes probably going to end up needing a new carrier. deff get an aluminum aftermarket one and not a stock piece. he may not need one though youll have to wait untill you get it appart. when you do, be sure to look at the inside of the carrier and the axle and make sure its not scared up real bad or cracked anywhere

it could be, but you cant fix it unless you have a left handed screw driver...tell him hes gonna need to go get one first

Maybe the axle carrier is messed up. All i can say is tear it apart and find out what is wrong.

I had the same problem with mine .. it turned out to be the piston return springs.

I just did recently too. The first time i replaced them I had to get my carrier machined. Ebay sells axle bearings and seals cheap;)
