This might be a dumb question but, I just picked up a 2001 250ex and was going to change the oil I but don't see anything in the owners manual about changing an oil filter, does it have one or do I just have to change the oil more often?
Thanks

I think they have the same engine as a Recon and those don't have oil filters. I could be wrong but I think all it has is a screen you have to clean out every so often.

there is a screen somewhere in the motor... i dont think you need to clean it often, a) its really hard to get to and b) you just dont need to!

yeah it doesnt have one. my buddy got a recon to play around on and the first time he changed the oil he called me and told me to come down to his house and see if I could find where the filter was. haha

not that bad. I pay $4-$6 for a paper oil filter. That is a guess cause I dont ever look at the reciept. Its not much at all though.

It's half that for a case of them on Ebay.

the oil filters on the motor that goes in a 250EX and a recon are like a little fan. you dont have to replace them.
