that depends on what kind of riding you do.

IMO top speed really doesnt matter that much. I mean how much are you really gonna drive wide open? I would be more worried about the bottom end and mid range power.

You should also look at comfort on the 450r. Are you comfortable on one compared to your kawasaki?

You should also see if you like the way that they handle before you make up your mind.

I would say 80 mph and up stock gearing, faster with an ignition that lets you get the rpm higher. I have never clocked my 450R but the top speed on my raptor I had was about 75 mph and my 450R is alot faster.

my raptor goes 92mph and my friends banshee goes 87mph and a yfz stock goes 79-81mph

WhiteLakeMotors, I thought he was talking about stock gearing.
kfxrider35, If the stock YFZ will go 79 to 81 mph then I would say the 450 R will go 90+ mph stock gearing. Nothing aginst the YFZ but it is geared for close course racing on the mx track. The TRX 450R is a whole gear taller on the top end, so the question is which type of racing do you want to do, either quad you choose in comparision the KFX doesn't stand a chance without alot of modifications. I have raced against them all.

If your racing GNCC why would it matter what the top speed would be? Whats more important is how fast it can get there. Id like to know the average speed of a GNCC race because i know its not all that fast because of the technical trails. You see alot of stock sport atvs that can reach speeds in the 60 or 70 mph range, some take forever to get there.. some not so long. What im getting at is dont base your decision on the top speed of an atv because really its not important as you think.

I've got a Kawasaki Power Wheels......it's really fast. After I put bolts in the plastic tires (for traction), it runs 80mph.

lol

You're right, 450Rkid. There is no friggin' way.

450Rkid, I was just responding to WhiteLakeMotors saying that a stock yfz will go 79 - 81 mph, and if that was the case then the 450R would go about 90 mph. I am not sure how fast the 450 will go out of the box I have never had it clocked, but I do know from drag racing the trx is faster on the top end than a yfz stock for stock by a whole gear. My friend went up 1 tooth on the front sprocket and down 1 on the rear on his yfz 450 and my 450 still had more speed on the top end. If I had to guess how fast the 450 is out of the box I would say around 75 mph, with different cdi box 80 mph + maybe a few mph and thats pinned at 11,500 rpm.
