How to pull the clutch?

I'm pulling my clutch to install a HD timing chain, do I have to use the clutch tool to hold the basket from spinning when I remove the nut? Or is there another way?

A rag and a good impact will do you just fine.Hold on to the basket with the rag and give the impact a bump or two and it will come off.Remember to replace the nut once you remove it.

If you do not have an impact, you can use a penny in the gear to hold it while you loosen the nut.
