anybody know if a 300ex can be made into a kick start using the 250x kickstart assembly?im thinking about doing a high compression setup and i know my starter will barely turn over the 11.1 wiseco piston i have now.i can machine the cases on the 300ex where the kick start lever would go .anybody ever tried it?i have seen a plethora of knowledge on this site so hopefully somebody can help.thanx

if you do it, u have to get the parts, and split the case to get the shaft hooked up. thats the hard part, its a lot of work though....

i was thinking just the clutch cover needs to be removed to install the kick starter gears.and mill a hole in the clutch cover for the shaft,im just wondering if anybody has ever done it

u have to take the whole bottom end apart, and the whole motor, and then u have to mill the hole out, a few people have done it on here i think, lot of work, have u rebuilt ur starter? maybe it would start easier

I had a wiseco 11.1 piston .20 over and it turned the motor over fine

tc used to do this mod. he says it was kind of a pain. you cant just use a 250x sidecover either, the oiling is different.

if you have the means to machine the side cover and case, then it really sholdnt be that hard. if i had the whole motor apart for something else, i would probably do it unless the kickstarter gears are just way expensive
