I know a lot of you think this is a stupid question but how do you jump a 2 stroke? I used to ride a four stroke and i would slightly blip the throttle off the takeoff. A lot of people have told me to upshift right before you hit he ramp, dont be in the powerband, keep the thrittle steady in the powerband, blip the throttle on takeoff,...etc. So now i dont know whtat to do and i dont just want to go balls out and eat it. If you could tell me it would be a great help. Thanks in advance.

well, whenever my buddy jumpes his banshee, he keeps it in the powerband and taps it at takeoff, its okay to keep it in the powerband because 2 strokes have no engine braking and it won't slow you down by letting off the throttle before the top.... thats just what I've observed by watching him jump.. I've only ridden 4 strokes so i have no personal experience, just mob it and nail it at the top!!!!

yea what he said just wing it see what happens. everybody jumps a little different. i preload and blip the throttle while my friend just goes faster and hits it with a good steady speed.

What little I've messed with 2 strokes quads I think you really, really need to stay in the band. When you realize you may come up short, you blip the throttle to bring the front end up a little more than usual and this "blip" at the end will also put you a little farther out. On a 2 stroke, if you try this under the band, your not going to get much of a result if any. About scared myself stupid on a banshee doing that. Next time around I dropped a gear and come out ok by staying in the power band.

My 2 cents........I favor 4 stroke quads and 2 stroke bikes. I just can't stay in the meat of the pb on a quad like I can on a bike. I quess I'm just dysfunctional like that. Go figure.

When youre jumpng a 2 stroke definitly keep it in the powerband and then just completly floor it at the top of the jump, to me theres not a big difference between jumping 2 and 4 strokes, but if youre a little nervous just hit some smaller jumps untill you get used to it.
